The value of these grants is based on the funding (or credits) that institutions received from the three federal research funding agencies—the Canadian Institutes for Health Research, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council—during the 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17 fiscal years, and according to the Incremental Project Grants budget of $28,750,000.
